All around Portage County, small businesses are hosting events and sales for the holiday season. Check out the list below for information on what’s going on locally that you may have missed.
Aurora
Wayside Workshop is having a 10% off sale on all Christmas and holiday merchandise and decor on Dec. 13 and Dec. 14.
The Aurora Historical Society is hosting a Santa at the Museum event on Dec. 13 where attendees can take pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, participate in a scavenger hunt and make a photo craft. The first 60 visitors will also receive a small gift.
Kent
A Holiday Sip & Shop is happening from 6 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 12. Attendees can get a drink or mocktail and shop locally at participating businesses.
Mantua-Shalersville
The Mantua-Shalersville Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free Santa in the Village event from 2 – 4 p.m. on Dec. 13. Attendees can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and make an ornament craft. All local businesses will be open for shopping, and many of them are within walking distance of the green space where Santa will be.
The Crestwood Community Center is hosting a Potluck Party for senior community members at 12 p.m. on Dec. 17. Attendees can stay for a free acrylic guided painting of Christmas trees at 12:30 p.m. and a white elephant gift exchange at 2:30 p.m.
The Chamber of Commerce is also hosting a viewing of the movie “Elf” at the Martin S. Hura Lodge at 6 p.m. on Dec. 20.
Streetsboro
All month long, the Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting Frost & Found Streetsboro. The celebration of local businesses includes special deals, promotions and holiday surprises.
Pure Passions Farm is hosting Christmas at the Farm on Dec. 13, Dec. 14 and Dec. 20 during select hours. On Dec. 20, local vendors will be on-site. Attendees can also build their own alpaca fiber ornament and spend time with their animals, including baby micro mini cows.
Wild Eagle Steak & Saloon is hosting a Ugly Sweater Party & Contest on Dec. 20 with live music by Disco Inferno.
Angie’s is hosting a Christmas Party from 4 – 8 p.m. on Dec. 20. There will be a hot cocoa bar, canned food drive, free crafts and more.
