Here’s everything the Portage Park District is offering in August

The Portage Park District announced all of its upcoming events and programs for the month of August.

Check them out:

  • Aug. 2 Tai Chi with Sequoia Wellness at Towner’s Woods, 2264 Ravenna Road in Franklin Township: 10:30-11:30 a.m.
  • Aug. 8 Family Game Night at Dix Park, 7318 state Route 44 in Ravenna Township: (Scavenger Hunt): 6-7 p.m.
  • Aug. 9 River Health Workshop at Buchert Park, 4808 E. High St., Mantua: 10 a.m.-noon.
  • Aug. 9 Ride with a Ranger at Headwaters Trail. Park at Bill Phelps Village Park, behind the Garrettsville branch of the Portage County District Library, 10482 South St., Garrettsville. The ride itself will begin at the trailhead kiosk: 6-8 p.m.
  • Aug. 10 Senior HIke at Portage Hike & Bike Trail, 535 Cleveland Road, Ravenna: noon- 1 p.m.
  • Aug. 12 Birding Club at Dix Park, 7318 state Route 44 in Ravenna Township: 8-9 a.m.
  • Aug. 12 Junior Ranger Pinning Ceremony at Towner’s Woods, 2264 Ravenna Road in Franklin Township: noon-1 p.m.
  • Aug. 13 NABA Butterfly Count at Towner’s Woods, 2264 Ravenna Road in Franklin Township: 10:30-11:30 a.m.
  • Aug. 15 Nature Sounds at Night at Morgan Park, 8828 state Route 44 in Shalersville Township: 8-9 p.m.
  • Aug. 17 Yoga with Sequoia Wellness at Towner’s Woods, 2264 Ravenna Road in Franklin Township: 6:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Aug. 24 Senior Hike at Trail Lake Park, 605 Ravenna Road, Streetsboro, noon-1 p.m.
  • Aug. 24 Owlbert’s Adventures: Butterfly Bliss at Dix Park, 7318 state Route 44 in Ravenna Township: 3-4 p.m.
  • Aug. 25 Happy Heart Hike at Portage Hike & Bike Trail, 1557 Lake Rockwell Rd., Franklin Township: 9-10 a.m.
  • Aug. 25 Summer Sunset Hike at Trail Lake Park, 605 Ravenna Road in Streetsboro: 7:30-8:30 p.m.
  • Aug. 28 CrowdHydrology Walking Tour at Kent State University, 6-8 p.m. Meet at the Campus Center Sports Complex parking lot off 1613 Campus Center Drive, Kent.
  • Aug. 29 Wetlands & Watersheds Webinar 7-8 p.m.

All events are free, but participants are required to register ahead of time. Visit www.portageparkdistrict.org for registration. Click on the ‘Things to Do’ box under the website header, scroll down to “Upcoming Programs and Events, and choose the desired program.
