Aurora approves contract to update planning, zoning and building software

Aurora City Council on Nov. 25 authorized a five-year, $372,243 contract with OpenGov Inc. to upgrade the city’s planning, zoning and building department’s record management software.

Department staff who had reviewed products from four other companies concluded that OpenGov’s product’s were the most functional and were able to communicate the best with residents and other city departments.

The contract is effective Feb. 1, 2025, to Jan. 1, 2029.

Council also authorized:

  • a five-year, $150,000-a-year contract with LTech Solutions to continue serving as the city’s information technologies consultant.
  • a $105,000 contract with R2O Consulting LLC to provide professional engineering services for improvements to the Geauga Lake neighborhood’s sanitary sewers.
  • a $221,060 contract with Trojan Technologies to replace ultraviolet light disinfection equipment at Aurora’s Westerly Wastewater Treatment Plant. Council’s vote was paired with a $62,103 contract with Hejduk-Cox & Associates to provide professional engineering services for improvements to the plant.
