Rootstown
The Rootstown Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 at NEOMED at 4209 state Route 44. There will be some 40 vendors showcasing their businesses and passing out candy. There will also be a Trunk-or-Treat and a Touch-a-Truck with the fire department, service department and sheriff’s office.
Rootstown Township authorized the service department to put new tires on the back of one of its two big trucks and steering tires on the other big truck. The township also authorized the service department to get new front-wheel tires for the backhoe.
The township authorized the fire chief to look into purchasing a used fire truck that would help the fire department.
Trick-or-Treat will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29. Trunk-or-Treat will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the day before, on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Gracie Fields at 3540 Cook Rd.
Palmyra
Palmyra Township had appropriated some funding to do a chip-and-seal on Scotts Corner Road this year. However, due to the weather changing, that is no longer going to happen this year.
“We’re going to have to push it to next year,” township Chair Tom Grund said.
Trick-or-Treat will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29. Trunk-or-Treat will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. the same day at Palmyra Park.
Paris
Trunk-or-Treat will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Shearer Community Center at 9355 Newton Falls Rd. Trick-or-Treat will take place afterward.
A new generator continues to be installed in the Shearer Community Center.
“They poured the concrete pad and did some of the wiring for it last week,” township Chair Dave Kemble said.
Edinburg
Trunk-or-Treat will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29 at Edinburg Township Park at 4326 Rock Spring Rd.
