Scholarship available for Portage County students pursuing plant science degrees

The Ohio State University Extension Portage County Master Gardeners is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a qualifying student.

Applicants must be Portage County residents and graduates of a Portage County high school or currently enrolled in a Portage County high school, college, university or technical school. They must be pursuing a plant science degree, such as, but not limited to, agronomy, botany, horticulture, forestry, landscaping, environment, conservation or agriculture.

Graduating high school seniors or others who have not started their program of study at a college, university or technical school should submit a high school transcript. Applicants who have started their program of college study should submit a transcript from the school.

Application packets are available through local high school guidance counselors. A fillable version of the application package is also available online at the Portage County Master Gardeners Facebook page. You can also download it here.
