Ronald James Taylor 71 of Ravenna passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022 at his residence. He was born June 9, 1951 in Massillon, Ohio to Harry G. and Wilma B. (Holdren) Taylor.
Jerome Henry Clarence Hemmelgarn — “Jerry”
Jerry was born in Philothea, Ohio on November 12, 1932, the same year as Johnny Cash. On June 12, 2022, after a long, enjoyable life and a brief illness he departed this world while surrounded by family in his home in Kent, Ohio. He was preceded in death by, in chronological order, son Eddie Hemmelgarn, brother Floyd Hemmelgarn, mother Josephine Hemmelgarn, father Edward Hemmelgarn, daughters Kim Harvey & Janice Decker, son Frank Hemmelgarn, wife Shirley Hemmelgarn, and daughter Joy Anderson.
He is survived by his sister Betty (Auggie) Jutte, son John (Merry Zogas), daughter Beth Hemmelgarn as well as many nieces, nephews, grand and great grandchildren.
Jerry loved telling stories that began, “Years ago…” He loved the Cleveland Browns, Tribe baseball, and Echo Spring Kentucky Bourbon. And his family. And his backyard birds.
Jerry was a wonderful man and we cannot imagine a world without him in it.
