Ronald Glen Simms
Ronald Glen Simms, 64, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 16th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He fought a long and courageous battle with metastatic cancer. He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on August 9th, 1960. He was a 1978 graduate of Ravenna High School and Maplewood Career Center. He graduated from the University of Akron, Summa Cum Laude, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He attended The Way Operation Bible Institute. He was a member of Wayland Community Church. He was an ordained Minister; he loved helping others through his calling as a pastor. He loved his family, especially his precious granddaughters. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Fan.
He married the love of his life, Eva Marie (Priest) and was happily in love for over 43 years. Left to celebrate his life are their children Brannon (Megan), Shalyn (Austin), granddaughters Audrey and Sophie, Mother Bernadine Garrett, Sister Sandy Rose, Brothers Norman (Becky), Ken (Donna), Jason (Nicole), John and Steve, Cherished Nephew Charles (Alisha) and many more nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Jackie P. and brothers, Jackie F., Jackie L., and David.
Per Ron’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Wayland Community Church, 6355 Wayland Rd., Wayland Ohio, 44285 on December 14th, 2024, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Thomas Holbrook officiating.
