Portage County JFS is hiring for multiple positions at an open interview event Nov. 6

Portage County Job and Family Services will hold open interviews to staff its own department as the county’s primary social services agency works to restore pre-pandemic staffing levels.

The fast-track hiring event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9 at OhioMeansJobs, 253 S. Chestnut St. in Ravenna.

JFS needs to fill multiple positions, including five Eligibility Specialists, seven Social Services Worker 3, one Child Support Specialist, one paralegal in the Child Support Division, and one Child Protective Services Supervisor.

Applicants can learn additional information about the positions, and download a county application form at https://www.portagecounty-oh.gov/human-resources/pages/job-opportunities.

County employees receive 12 paid holidays per year, earn sick leave and paid time off, are eligible for wellness incentive and employee assistance programs, a low-deductible health plan, and the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).

Applicants with appropriate qualifications may be offered contingent job offers on the spot, and can expect to be fingerprinted and undergo a background check. They should plan to bring appropriate documentation, including a driver’s license, social security card, and three letters of recommendation.
