Middlebury Road will be closed through the end of February

Kent motorists will have to find a new route around Middlebury Road until late February 2022.

The city is replacing the Yacavona Road sanitary pump station with a sanitary trunk sewer that will connect with the Middlebury Road pump station, which is itself being replaced.

From state Route 261, motorists will still be able to access the Summit MetroParks Freedom Trail, the Portage County Bike and Hike Trail and nearby businesses. Coming from 261, Middlebury Road is closed at the bridge over the Cuyahoga River.

Motorists traveling Middlebury Road from Haymaker Parkway will still be able to access Fred Fuller Park. The road is closed at Hughey Drive, though local residents will still have access to Hughey Drive, Yacavona Street and Akron Boulevard.
