More Job and Family Services events:
- The second annual Back to School Health and Wellness day will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 28. The event will take the form of a drive-thru at Ravenna High School. Community organizations will be on hand, and there will be goodie bags for families. Register by contacting Kim McClendon at [email protected] or call her at 330-357-7190.
- JFS will also be providing $75 Back to School vouchers to families who qualify this summer. Vouchers will be redeemable at Gabe’s in Kent and Burlington Coat Factory. Families must apply for the vouchers from June 7 through July 2. Applications are available at co.portage.oh.us/jfs, on the second floor of the administration building or at the Ohio Means Jobs site on South Chestnut Street in Ravenna.
- The sixth annual Senior Forum will be a drive-thru as well. This is an opportunity to get information about aging and available services into the hands of seniors and their families. This event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 24 at Ravenna High School. Registration is required. Contact Kim McClendon at [email protected] or call 330-357-7190.
- The county’s child support division will be moving from 209 S. Chestnut St. to the second floor of the county administration building this summer. The move will save about $80,000 in annual rent payments, and will create more of a one-stop location for county services, JFS Director Kellijo Jefferies said.
