Summertime is fun time in Garrettsville, where monthly car shows are a fixture. This week’s entertainment will be Blue Cadillac which presents music from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s.
Not to be outdone, the Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to Aug. 13, when the city will host its annual Peach Social Car Cruise, which in years past has attracted folks from far and near. It’s the city’s biggest cruise-in, and takes place behind the village fire station, 8035 Elm St.
On offer will be fresh peaches, peach pie, and peaches and ice cream. Music will be provided by the Dennis Chandler band, playing roots rock, blues and boogie woogie from the ‘80s to the present.
Don’t forget about the Garrettsville Farmers Market, which is held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays in a vacant downtown lot.
