Everything you need to know about waste disposal in Hiram village and township

Kimble Recycling & Disposal will be handling both Hiram village and township recycling as the Portage County Solid Waste Management District did not pursue a contract with these communities.

Pickup will be every Friday starting in mid-December. Cost to residents will be $6.15 monthly, with annual increases of 3% or as indicated by the national Consumer Price Index (whichever is greater) for the duration of the contract. Hiram Township Trustee Jack Groselle said the contract is between five and six years.

Curbside leaf pickup will continue in the village of Hiram until snowfall prohibits access. This pickup is for leaves only: no brush, twigs, limbs or other yard debris will be accepted.

The Hiram Village Street Department will collect Christmas trees during the month of January. Trees must be placed at the curb. All lights, ornaments, garlands and tinsel must be removed.

Hiram Township residents can bring used oil to the Hiram Township Garage for recycling from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. Appointments are required: Call 330-569-8908 to schedule a time for used oil dropoff.
