Garden Club of Kent dinner meeting
Monday, January 23, United Methodist Church, 1435 East Main Street, Kent OH. Members’ dinner, $14 each, at 6:30 pm; reserve with your caller the Friday before. The speaker/program is at 7:30pm and is free and open to the public. The speaker for January will be Beth Whipple from the Master Gardeners program, on the spotted lanternfly, an invasive pest that uses Ailanthus altissima, the Tree of Heaven, for its host.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and University Hospitals Portage Medical Center is hosting a free education event. Come and learn from the experts at UH about colon cancer and how to prevent it. The program will be presented by Gastroenterologist, Dr. Zachary Kawasnicka. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Presentation from Noon - 1 p.m. This event is FREE, but space is limited. To register, call 330-297-2576.
