Poets from around Ohio will read their poems in a theatrical style poetry reading at the Wick Poetry Center Garden, 126 S Lincoln St, Kent, OH 44242. Park at the Kent State Fashion Museum. In case of rain, we will move next door, at the Kent State School of Architecture and Environmental Design, Cene Lecture Hall.

Richard “Poppo” Weiner and Doug Bender are a guitar and bass combo who formed the R&D Duo in 2017. They have played at a variety of venues in Northeast Ohio, including the Kent Blues Fest. Enjoy listening to the R&D Duo play traditional and popular American acoustic blues on the Library’s second floor balcony. All ages are welcome. No registration required. The Concert Series is generously supported by the Friends of Kent Free Library.
Monday, January 23, United Methodist Church, 1435 East Main Street, Kent OH. Members’ dinner, $14 each, at 6:30 pm; reserve with your caller the Friday before. The speaker/program is at 7:30pm and is free and open to the public. The speaker for January will be Beth Whipple from the Master Gardeners program, on the spotted lanternfly, an invasive pest that uses Ailanthus altissima, the Tree of Heaven, for its host.
