The meeting was brought to order at 7 p.m., followed by the pledge and a moment of silence.
The March 11 minutes acceptance was tabled by a motion from Charlie Harris.
There was a NOPEC flyer at the podium regarding the increased capacity charge for anyone who needed the information.
A thank you was received for the $5,000 donation from the Randolph Suffield Atwater Food Shelf.
The fiscal officer received approval for receipts, warrants and EFTs to be paid.
A motion to continue to follow Resolution 32025 to continue paying for medical benefits for the full-time employees of the township and elected officials was approved.
The fire department thanked the community for the growing support for overnight staffing, as well as thanked Dale Wiley for a giant TV, and Milt Green for setting up the UH helicopter landing zone that was needed after a bad accident in the township.
Harris reported on the work of the road department and submitted for approval a new chip and seal contract with a new reduced amount of $70,860, due to the exclusion of chip and seal on Hillcrest. The motion was approved. He asked for approval to list the old tractor tires for sale on Facebook Marketplace, like the stove that was recently sold to a VFW. If the tires do not sell, they will be sent to auction. That was approved.
Zoning reported no permits, seven calls and eight emails since the last meeting. There were three complaints, but no forms submitted. He is investigating a report of someone living on a property in a camper. He attended the March 12 Regional Planning meeting.
Wiley reported tiles finally came in for Town Hall.
There will be a community yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 17 and 18, sponsored by the Waterloo Community Helping Hands. Go to their Facebook page to sign up. They will be creating a map with all participants’ addresses.
Thora Green presented Resolution 62025 to support Issue 2 on the May 6 ballot. This is a renewal that will not raise taxes, has received overwhelming bipartisan support since 1987 and will continue to help fund local infrastructure projects by providing grants in all 88 counties. The resolution was adopted.

Harris reported on the Clean Up Days: there will be 12, 95-ton toters for documents to be shredded. They will be locked and taken to Portage County Recycling. Also tire recycling and scrap will be available. Residents must show identification of Atwater township residency in order to participate.
Harris will begin to get replacement values on all large equipment for insurance purposes.
Motion to renew the Provident insurance policy for the firefighters’ death and disability insurance was approved.
Entries for the Memorial Day parade are open. This year will include bicycle decoration with trophies for first and second place. The theme is “All gave some, some gave all.”
