The Thursday Literary Club will be celebrating “100 Years of Reading 1924-2024” from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 11 in the Haymaker Room of Reed Memorial Library, 167 E. Main St., Ravenna.
Main Street Ravenna, in collaboration with Ravenna High School’s Civics class, will host the newly created JoJo Festival from 4 to 8 p.m. April 26 in downtown Ravenna.
Wayne Enders will be the speaker for the Portage County Historical Society at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27. His topic will be “Ravenna’s First 100 Years.” Light refreshments will be served; the program is free and open to the public. Donations will be appreciated.

The Auxiliary of University Hospitals Portage Medical Center in Ravenna will host their 36th annual Celebration of Lights on Wednesday, Dec. 6 in Room 150 of the UH Portage Medical Arts Building, 6847 N. Chestnut St., Ravenna.

The Rev. Carl Kish is being honored with a retirement reception on Sunday, June 25, beginning with celebration of Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Cortland. The reception will follow from noon to 4 p.m. After 61 years as a priest in the Diocese of Youngstown, Rev. Kish is retiring on July 1. Friends and former parishioners are all invited to attend.

David Nagella, formerly of Ravenna, and wife Candy came from Texas for a short visit in April. Since he has a lot of family in this area, we Nagellas got together for breakfast so we could all visit with the couple.
“The Real Italian Club Spaghetti Dinner” will be held April 28 at the Ravenna Eagles Club. The original kitchen crew from the past from the Ravenna Italian-American Society will be preparing their famous spaghetti dinner from 4-7 p.m., while supplies last.
