The Sip n Shop on Main is taking a few more artisans. We are happy to announce this year’s wineries: Laleure Vineyards, Feisty Broad, It’s your Winery, Salvage Winery, West Main Street Winery, and Winery at Versailles.
The Garrettsville Chamber of Commerce announced its annual activities for the coming year 2025.
The St. Ambrose 64th Chicken Dinner Festival will take place June 29 and 30 at St. Ambrose Church, in the hall downstairs. Come out and enjoy the music, games and delicious chicken dinners.
Garage Sale Weekend is just around the corner, May 17-19 is the big weekend to join all the other garage sellers. You can now register online at 44231.org/shop. There is also a form in The Villager.
Homecoming is Friday, Oct. 4. If you’re an alumni band member, Mr. Cebulla would love to have you back to join the memorable halftime performance. If you are interested in being back on the field, contact him via email at [email protected] – and don’t forget to let him know if you need an instrument.
St. Ambrose Church is hosting bingo on the first and third Tuesday of the month; doors open at 5:45 p.m. There is an early-bird game starting at 6:45 p.m. The location is inside the St. Ambrose Hall on Freedom Street. All participants must be 18 years or older.
The Sip n Shop was a huge success. Co-organizer Sherri Collins and I are already planning next year’s Sip n Shop on Main.
Garrettsville is never without fun events. St. Patrick’s Day will again be celebrated with the Green Luck of the Irish throughout town: petting zoo, and horse and wagon rides on the corner of Main and Center from 4 to 7 p.m., weather permitting. Each restaurant will offer great Irish food, all available on Monday, March 17. There will also be face painting at the Mill.
On May 10, the James A. Garfield Track and Field athletes hosted their first meet in more than 20 years. After a long time coming, the Track and Field Complex was opened and celebrated with a ribbon cutting.
The Garrettsville Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a wine tasting/craft/artisan show on Main Street from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 27. We are currently looking for crafters interested in participating in this fun event. Come out and listen to music, sip wine (in the designated DORA area) and sell your crafts.
The SummerFest committee has been very busy. There are many fun things to do on Friday, June 28 through Sunday, June 30.
