USCRI and The Church in Aurora have partnered with the community to meet the needs of our new neighbors. A posting of immediate donation needs is listed below. Members may drop off urgently needed items at the Church in Aurora on Sept. 16, 2023, between noon and 4 p.m. in the parking lot.

Founded 28 years ago, the nonprofit has provided 118,702 meals, more than 31,588 snacks and 5,820 shelf-stable weekend meals for children in lower-income neighborhoods across the county, the organization said. And they've accomplished this despite having no permanent home.

The 14th Annual Kent Blues Fest presented by Wayside Furniture takes place Saturday, July 15, offering free live music by more than 40 acts at 27 venues throughout Kent. The Feb. 9 coroner’s report is brief. Remains belonging to a “John Doe” had been found in the woods by 408 Devon Place, site of University Hospitals medical facilities and a nearby Bob Evans restaurant. No trauma or suspected cause of death could be identified.
