If you’ve got a car, truck, or motorcycle you’re proud of, or if you just like looking at cool vehicles, Aurora might be the place to be on Sept. 17.
That’s when the city will host its 20th annual classic car show from 1-4 p.m. at Sunny Lake Park.
“Classic car show” is a bit of a misnomer. Modern vehicles are also welcome, as are trucks, motorcycles, and street rods, said Aurora Parks and Recreation Community Events Coordinator Katie Nahra.
Registration starts at noon, with the first 125 registrants receiving exclusive dash plaques. There is no preregistration for the event, which last year attracted about 150 proud vehicle owners. Registration and admission are free, and food trucks will be on site.
Award categories include best of show, best classic car, best modern car, people’s choice, judge’s choice, most unique, and best motorcycle, truck, muscle car, and street rod.
