Unfortunately the Windham Fall Festival has been canceled for 2023. There were multiple factors causing the cancellation. The Village of Windham is considering multiple options for next year.

The Windham Fire Department received a donation of pet oxygen masks from the “Mona Pants Foundation.” A set will be placed in each ambulance so they can help animals in need of help. “Mona Pants” is a nonprofit that works to provide help to animals in need, in many ways. Supplying pet masks is just one of the ways they help. The group helps many underfunded pet rescue groups. They have a Facebook page.

In other fire department news, the Windham Fire Department would like to congratulate Chris Pekarek and Jeff Scott on their promotion to lieutenant. Their hard work and dedication to our town is appreciated.

Earlier this month, the Windham Fire Department recognized former Fire Chief Rich Gano for his 44 years of service. That is an incredibly long time of service. Also recognized was firefighter Wayne Blair for 27 years of service.

Are you interested in learning about the Ravenna Arsenal? There is a beautiful book telling of its first 100 years. It is beautifully illustrated. The Windham Historical Society has a fresh supply of these books. Cost is still $50 … if it needs to be mailed the extra cost is $7 for book rate.

Please let Lynnea St. John know if you want one. The check needs to be made out to Windham Historical Society and contact Lynnea for address to send it to or arrange to pick it up. Included is the story of what happened to the southern half of Windham! It changed our community a great deal.

To keep this page interesting, I need information from Windhamites about what is happening in Windham. I hope someone tells me about last weekend’s Windham High School Mega Reunion. I found out about it too late to publicize it, but would like to know what happens. Please let me know about events in our community!
