The 19th Summerfest is almost upon us. This year’s grand marshal is “lil’ John Rinaldi. The Summerfest welcomes the live music acts: In the Heartland (Michael Stanley tribute), Huckin Fillbillies and Ace Molar featuring Fox 8’s Todd Meany.
Summerfest this year is being held June 27, 28 and 29. The raffle this year is brought to you by Daystar Ford – Grand prize, MadJax golf cart valued at $10,000, second place, a summer grilling package valued at $500 (Bonner Farms) and third place, free Domino’s pizza for a year (Domino’s). The drawing will be held at 10 p.m. June 29.
St. Ambrose Church will host its annual Chicken Dinner Festival on June 28 and 29 at 10692 Freedom St., Garrettsville. Dinners are served from noon to 7:30 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. The menu includes open pit BBQ half chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, roll with butter and dessert. Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children. Come out and enjoy the large church raffle, cash raffle, corporate prize raffle, side of beef raffle, bingo, beer tent and concessions. Enjoy music and karaoke from 1-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Saturday. Bluegrass music by Ohio Crossroads will be featured from 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
The Garrettsville Curtains up Theatre is proud to present its production of “The Play that Goes Wrong” at 7 p.m. Aug. 1, 2, 8 and 9 and 1 p.m. Aug. 3 in the James A. Garfield auditorium. Elisa Bly is excited to expand her talents and direct this production. Tickets available at the door: $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and children. Doors open 30 minutes prior to curtains up.
